Case Study of Collaborative Robot Implementation | Overcoming Skill Shortages with In-House Robotics Knowledge
A team of engineers and technical experts responsible for automating processes with new technologies has been established!
At Assa Abloy Romania, keys are assembled. The assembled products are sent to Assa Abloy factories around the world to be finished into final products. In Romania's capital, Bucharest, the unemployment rate is low, and this factory has been suffering from a significant skills shortage. The difficulty of attracting new employees to the manufacturing sector has pushed forward automation reforms. In-house robotics knowledge has been built around a team of engineers and technicians responsible for automating processes with new technologies. The team chose to combine Robotiq's 2-Finger Adaptive Gripper and wrist camera with the Universal Robot UR5 for the machine tending process. The robot places two parts onto a fixture, which the machine then welds. [Overview] ■ Products used: 2F-85 / 2F-140 Adaptive Grippers ■ Application: Machine Tending *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us at v.li@robotiq.com.
